Dublin Airport (DUB): Approximate driving time to the Mespil Hotel is 40 minutes and distance is 12 kilometres (7.5 miles).

Getting there: Aircoach services run from the airport to Leeson Street, within 300 metres of the hotel, every 15 minutes; a single fare costs €7. Taxis are also available at the airport; typical fare approx. €25–30 depending on traffic conditions and the amount of luggage. All prices are subject to change.

Driving directions: From the airport, follow signposts for the N1/M1 motorway to the city centre. At the end of the motorway, approaching Drumcondra, turn left onto Clonliffe Road and follow signposts for the East Link Tollbridge. At the junction with Tolka Quay Road take the second exit off the roundabout. The Point Depot should be on the right-hand side. At the junction with the Tollbridge/North Wall Quay continue straight across the River Liffey, until the Eastlink Bridge Tollbooths (Car toll approx. €1.45). Continue straight on for half a mile then take the third exit at the roundabout. At the junction with the R111 turn right at the traffic lights then turn left onto Londonbridge Road. Drive straight on into Haddington Road and continue to a set of traffic lights. Go straight across the intersection at Baggot Street Bridge and the Mespil Hotel is 50 metres on the left.

Getting around: Dublin's extensive bus network (green double-deckers) serves the centre and the suburbs. The nearest bus stop is 50 metres from the hotel. Buses run every 10–15 minutes to Connolly station and the city centre; fare is approx. €1. Taxis are expensive and can be hard to come by. Parking is scarce, but a car is a great way to get off the beaten track; the centre of Dublin is best explored on foot.
